Greening offices: a host of benefits

There are many advantages to greening offices. Air purification, a positive impact on employee health, optimized interior and exterior design... all benefits that improve the quality of life in the workplace.

A positive impact on employees

Greening offices has a positive impact on employee health. For example, thanks to their effect on the brain, plants improve well-being, which in turn reduces stress and anxiety. This, in turn, boosts not only productivity, but also creativity, as employees are better able to concentrate. As a result, they perform better.

But that's not the only advantage. In fact, plant-based decoration makes the workspace much more pleasant. As a result, employees feel good, and better regarded by their employer. They naturally have a positive view of the corporate culture.

Greening offices significantly improves air quality

In addition to their relaxing benefits, certain plants such as philodendron or ficus benjamina also have depolluting and purifying virtues. They improve air quality by absorbing toxic and potentially carcinogenic substances such as benzene, xylene and formaldehyde found in paints and cleaning products.

In this way, the air is more easily renewed, which is essential for preventing carbon monoxide from accumulating in a room. Once again, greening offices has a positive effect on employees' health and well-being.

Optimized interior design for businesses

Plants can be used to create a variety of optimized layouts. Plant partitions are a perfect example: when well arranged, plants can provide good soundproofing, as well as thermal insulation. They can also be used to delimit spaces aesthetically and without the need for additional furniture, which is an environmentally-friendly approach.

Planting is also a way of creating original office layouts that contrast with dehumanized, neutral or austere spaces. Hanging plants, for example, will bring a playful and singular touch to any room. Plants are a great alternative for optimizing corporate interiors.

Exterior landscaping

Most companies have exteriors. This can be a terrace, a courtyard, a garden, a balcony or a patio. Here too, don't hesitate to add greenery to create a welcoming space for employees:

  • Create a participatory vegetable garden to generate a sense of involvement through a fun activity.
  • Build a pergola to create a protected, delimited outdoor space for offices.
  • Use colorful, fragrant plants to create a pleasant, relaxing environment.
  • Create an atypical "urban jungle" decor that breaks with routine, with tropical green plants such as calathea.

Greening facades and roofs optimizes acoustic and thermal insulation, while enhancing the building's appearance.
